It is often extremely difficult to put emotional distress into words. Talking about our problems is sometimes very hard. Art making offers another form of self-expression.
Making art during a therapy session can help people to think about and understand thoughts and feelings. Art can help express these more creatively and to manage them more effectively.

The process of art making may help people become more aware of thoughts and feelings and this can be as important as the picture or object they make. The artwork made in therapy may not look like much to others but it often has great importance and significance.
I work with Adults, Children and families. I have experience of working in Adult Mental Health and in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and in a hospital setting with teenagers who have mental health difficulties. I have experience with children with special needs and Autism. I also work with families who have experienced domestic violence.
